Two marks, two stories.

Everything you need to use the FIOKA name and marks correctly in articles, reports, posters and partner material. Foundation for Indigenous and Oral Knowledge Archives is called FIOKA for short.

The Echo F

The arms of the F repeat and fade, like a voice carried from one generation to the next. Each echo is someone passing words on to the person who will pass them on again. The echoes are always ember: the colour of the voice.

The story circle

People seated in a circle around a fire: the oldest way knowledge has been passed on. Ten people, one fire at the centre. It is our supporting symbol, and wherever you see it, someone is about to share a story.

Use the SVG wherever you can: it stays sharp at any size. Use the PNG for programs that can't open SVG, such as Word or some social media sites.

How to use the marks

  • Write the name as FIOKA, or in full as Foundation for Indigenous and Oral Knowledge Archives. Write "and", never "&".
  • Use the files as they are. Don't redraw, stretch, rotate or recolour them, and don't add shadows or effects.
  • Don't place the logo on a busy photo. Use a calm area, or the white version.
  • Leave clear space around the logo at least as wide as the stem of the F, and don't use the story circle as a second logo.
  • Please don't suggest FIOKA endorses or partners with anyone without our agreement.
